Wine+Music: Shoot with a Sommelier
‘Twas an early morning in Atlanta, the humidity rising with the sun. The river of cars that is i75/85 hadn’t started flowing. We all found street parking in front of the wine shop where our day would begin.
We were talking to Tahiirah Habibi, a sommelier, about how different wines can pair with music and give it a different feel. Starting a the shop, we set up a 2 camera interview with an Fx9 and an F5 on cp.2 primes. We got everything all lit just in time for the sun to rise above the buildings and into a window about 12ft up. We were able to flag it with a maxxed-out cstand and grip arm. Post interview, we got some b-roll of wine tasting and selection. Broke out a probe lens for a couple of shots too.
We packed up the wine shop and headed over to a studio to set up the wine+music pairing section. This was a sponsored piece so we had to include speakers and an amp in the shot. Turns out expensive amps are like 80lbs (team lift). We lit the scene with a china ball and a couple rgb tubs illuminating the background. We made a boring looking room, pretty. I’m pretty happy with happy with the 2 looks we got that day!
Finished piece here (they only posted it to IGTV):
